Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule any session, email reception@shapirolearning.com.
Cancellations happen and we aim to be flexible. However, it is important that you are aware of the following policies:
1. Late cancellations and no-shows.
You may cancel or reschedule appointments without cost if you provide at least 2 full business days' notice (weekends and public holidays not included). The full appointment fee will be charged to the credit card on file for no-shows or late-cancelled appointments that cannot be filled from our waitlist.
2. Cancelling assessment feedback sessions.
Reports are finalised after you have had a feedback session to discuss results, answer questions and create an action plan. This discussion is an ethical requirement of our profession. If you cancel your feedback session, the report will be delayed until the session is rescheduled and completed. Requests to release results without a feedback session can be accommodated only if (i) the report is sent directly (ie not via the family) to a medical professional or psychologist who, in your psychologist’s opinion, has the expertise to guide you through the outcomes and (ii) you prepay an amount equal to half of the counselling session fee shown on our website at the time of the appointment (to cover the cost of report writing that would otherwise have been included in your feedback session fee).
3. Frequent cancellations and requests to reschedule.
Your commitment to consistent attendance at the pace recommended by your psychologist is critical to your child’s progress and the smooth running of this practice. It is our policy that if you frequently cancel appointments - even with sufficient notice - we may pause services and offer your spot to another family who can attend regularly. The definition of 'frequently' is within the discretion of your treating psychologist but we will be accommodating of unusual circumstances. If you are having difficulty with the pace of the agreed treatment plan, please discuss this with your psychologist in session so alternative treatment approaches can be discussed.
